The Air Hogs Hawk Eye: Your Child’s Personal Eye in the Sky

Photography isn’t limited to teenagers, adults, and professionals. Even at a young age, children can become exposed to the exciting world of photography and video recording. Air Hogs, a toy manufacturer, has released the Air Hogs Hawk Eye, a fun and interesting toy that even teenagers might be interested in. It is a remote controlled helicopter, but what sets it apart from other remote controlled toys in the market today is its video recording capacity.

Yes, the Air Hogs Hawk Eye has a camera that allows users to record 5 minute videos and capture 640×480 pixel photographs. Users can take clear photos even if the helicopter is hovering mid-air thanks to its Steady-Fly Technology. This keeps the helicopter balanced, which avoids users from capturing shaky and/or blurred videos and photographs.

The fun doesn’t stop when users bring the Air Hogs Hawk Eye back down. The helicopter comes with a USB cord that allows users to upload the videos and photographs onto their personal computer. They can also access a video editing program on the manufacturer’s official website. This program can help them improve the quality of their videos and even add extra sounds and texts. Finally, parents won’t have to worry about spending for hundreds of batteries just to keep their children entertained; the helicopter charges when it’s linked to a computer.

The Step2 Flip n Doodle Allows Your Toddlers to Discover Their Inner Picasso or Van Gogh

Some artists are made, not born. There is one product that can help one’s child to develop their artistic side even at a very young age. Previous buyers highly recommend the Step2 Flip n Doodle, which is an art desk that can be easily turned into an easel. The easel can be flipped over to serve as the table for the art desk. The easel has a metal board that can be easily wiped clean, which provides children as young as 2 years old a place to scribble on, instead of running their crayons all over the house.

Parents love the number of storage spaces provided by the Step2 Flip n Doodle; the art desk has drawers, trays, and small shelves where their child can store his/her art supplies and paper. The desk also has a small storage area at the back where they can keep a few books. The desk comes with storage bins and a storage space for coloring books. Finally, a small 11 inch stool completes the set. The stool has a wide base, which prevents kids from toppling over easily. Kids can hang their finished artwork on a clip that is attached to the easel, so that every member of the family can see what they’ve been doing for the past few hours.

The Step2 Flip n Doodle can help kids improve their artistic tendencies, and most parents and grandparents who have bought this product highly recommend it to others. They love the ease with which a 2 year old can flip the easel over to turn it into his/her art desk, and how the entire product can be assembled easily as well.

Airbrushing For Fun and Profit

Houston, TX: Airbrush artist Ray Gatica has been airbrushing for over thirty years. When he started airbrushing back in the seventies in Phoenix, Arizona, back then before computers there was a lot of work and business for artist and airbrush artist. For entrepreneur/artrepreneurs there was a lot of commercial signage, hand painted graphics work to go around and make a fun, decent living.

Back then, Gatica had to learn the airbrush by trial and error. Today after, twenty years of that trial and error I am able to offer airbrush lessons to anyone wanting to learn it. Back then; I don’t remember ever seeing any one offering airbrush lessons. He remembers the frustration when he couldn’t figure out where to begin troubleshooting to address the problems, inherent with the airbrush. He also had to learn about friskets, appropriate supplies and materials, like frisket material, plastic shields. He didn’t know anything about any of that. When buying airbrush, the customers would get a little user guides and manual with instructions, but reading, and doing, are two very different things to Gatica.

He started by painting his own motorcycle, and then he went on to painting friend’s bikes, motorcycles along with painting airbrushed graphics on cars and trucks. “The airbrush paid for itself very quickly,” says Gatica. He also painted large commercial signs on trucks and small billboards.

Artist Keeps Old Tradition of Hand Painting Large Gym, Architectural Graphics and Murals Alive

Houston, TX: Large gym and architectural graphics are a specialty of Houston based commercial artist Ray Gatica. When it comes to laying out and hand painting large gym graphics, the artist uses the old overhead projector and pouncing process which goes back to when big billboards and large architectural graphics and signs were hand painted by accomplished, talented artist who were employed by the likes of Eller Outdoor Co., and other, similar outdoor advertising companies.

Back then, in the seventies and, as recently as the late eighties, all billboards were hand-painted. Back in the seventies, it wasn’t uncommon to look up towards a billboard 70 feet in the air and see a human painting the boards. They used oil paints. Remember seeing the old style Seagram’s 20 X 40 Ft. billboards when they showed fancy, sexy dressed models juxtaposed a Seagram or Bacardi bottle. It was excellent art!

No longer hand painted, these billboards are digitally produced. Most of the outdoor billboard companies today still provide their services, except the billboards are not hand painted any longer – but are digitally designed and created. The printers that print these twenty feet by forty feet billboards are twenty feet wide. The boards are painted on vinyl/media that is virtually indestructible and highly durable. The giant 20 foot-wide printers paint the vinyl very similar to a desktop printers attached to your computer. Finally, they are transported to the site where they are hoisted to about 70 feet in the air and then stretched and tied to the billboard frame.

Why Are Music Lessons So Important When Starting a New Instrument?

One thing that separates aspiring musicians from a few decades ago from their contemporary counterparts is the value of the internet; there are invaluable resources there that would have benefited the players of yesteryear. However, especially when beginning to seriously undertake an instrument, there is absolutely nothing that can come close to replacing the guidance of a professional teacher. This is true for several reasons.

Music teachers are more than a passive resource you try to take from. They listen to you, watch, judge, and speak back to you reflectively. With years of training under their belt, they can quickly identify flaws in a beginner’s technique. Perhaps the most important thing they do is determine what not to learn first. It’s essential that the student be given moderate tasks suitable to their experience, inclinations, and interest level. Nothing on the internet can possibly take these considerations into account and provide the appropriate lesson. Only a proper teacher can. Depending on these things, as well as the student’s commitment to practice and their desire to challenge themselves, the teacher can construct the ideal lesson. It’s up to a human to judge what the student is capable of, and then to find that proper balance between pushing enough, but not too much.

As well, teachers provide inspiration in the way they play the instrument themselves and the feedback and encouragement they provide. People have seen the most incredible accomplishments on a computer screen somewhere, and after a while they don’t seem or feel real. But when you’re in a room with someone who is actually responsible for the incredible guitar sounds you’re hearing it bridges that gap between fantasy and a potential reality. In other words, it seems possible to do it yourself.

Most Popular Guitars

Ever since the folk and rock explosion of the sixties, the guitar has become perhaps the world’s most popular instrument. Lightweight and portable, and relatively easy to play basic chords, it’s not hard to understand why so many people love it. When looking at the popularity of different models it’s important to consider what type of songs you want to be playing. Even still, some guitars are exceptionally popular.

For blues and rock, the most popular guitars are the Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Les Paul. Both guitars have been used by too many legends to name, and when deciding which to buy it’s really a matter of personal preference. Fender’s tend to have a nasty, raw edge, as demonstrated most notably by Jimi Hendrix. In fact, the model was going to be discontinued until Hendrix began playing one and made it famous. On the other hand, the Gibson Les Paul has been used under the same musical circumstances by hard rock legend Jimmy Page. The sound still has a crunch to it, but with a smoother, mellow edge. If sound is the biggest factor when choosing a guitar, feel has to be number two. Gibson necks in general tend to be a little wider. Both the Gibson les Paul and the SG models are extremely popular, and both exemplify the quality craftsmanship that has rightly put Gibson amongst the most respected guitar builders in the world. For those looking to try a far-out looking model, try the flying V! Those of you selecting Fender to sound like Hendrix should bear in mind that Jimi played a flying V and other Gibsons too.

Everyone loves an acoustic guitar around the campfire, and for decades everyone has wanted to be that guy playing. There are several acoustic guitars that make players around the world drool. The bread and butter for blues, finger-picking, and for singer song-writers alike is the Gibson J-45. They’ve been making them since the early 40’s, and there’s been no reason to mess with a success. For those who look at a guitar and can’t readily see the difference, try listening to an average guitar followed by a J-45! Besides, they come in so many beautiful shades and bursts that they should be considered stunning by people who don’t know guitars.

Yes, there are lots of personalized baby items that are available in the market to day, and although they are quite charming, but still many of them are common because they are produced massively. Now if you are invited to a baby shower and would like to give a beautiful personalized baby gift that doesn’t look like an after-thought, the you might want to consider a handmade baby gift which is a more personalized present than pre-made ones.

There are different handmade ideas that you may choose from. Handmade personalized baby gifts don’t need to be too much, and if you thought they are difficult to make, well then you are wrong because most of them are quite easy to create.

One of the best handmade personalized baby gifts are monogrammed baby blankets. Blankets are used for swaddling a baby. They are also used to wrap babies to give warm, especially during chilly days. If you want to make a blanket for an infant, its measurement is at least 36 inches square which is big enough to hold the baby. There are various fabrics that are used in making baby blankets, but if you want organic, choose pure natural cotton. To add a more finished look to the edges of the blanket, you may add satin trims. Add the baby’s monograms as well. You can also add his/her birth date and a short proverb or poem. If you cannot sew, you can purchase a piece or more and add the monograms yourself. If you can crochet or knit, it would also be an advantage in making handmade baby blankets. Adding monograms can either be through embroidery or iron-on transfer.

Famous Female Painters

Early art histories are eager to tell of the many accomplished male painters but often do not give the same amount of attention to the female artists. Admittedly during the early years of oil paintings men did dominate the scene. Canvas paintings were just not something very many women created. Despite the low number of early female painters, there are some that did gain notoriety during their life and fame after their death. Here are some of the more famous female painters that helped pave the way for modern day women.

Suzanne Valadon

Suzanne Valadon was born in France in 1865. She was the illegitimate daughter of a common working woman and spent her childhood years in and around the bohemian section of Paris. By the time she was ten she had to work and eventually settled on a position with a circus. This lasted for some time but a fall ended her career as a circus performer but was the first step in her career as an artist. Between the years of 1880-1883 Valadon worked as a model. She posed for famous painters like Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and it was during these secessions that she began to observe their technique. Before long she began painting and receiving guidance and instruction from her good friend Edgar Degas.
