Subliminal perception is termed to occur whenever stimuli are introduced below the threshold or limen for awareness is found to affect feeling, thoughts or actions. This term was originally used to describe situations in which weak stimuli were achieved without awareness, nowadays the term is being used to generally stipulate situations where unnoticed stimuli may be perceived. The concept behind this act is of considerable interest and complicated because it implicates people actions, thoughts and feelings can be deterred by use of stimuli and more so change witnessed without an individual awareness.
The interest reflects the psychological studies conducted in late 1800 where individuals picked randomly were asked to note awareness when certain stimuli were introduced, visual stimuli such as letters or geometric figures were presented at a distance and observers asked to identify visibility, likewise auditory stimuli such as names were whispered faintly that observes claimed they were unable to hear any sound whatsoever. To test whether such stimuli were received contrary to the observers awareness, individual were asked to make guesses in regards to the stimuli, for instance if the stimuli were half letters and half digits observers were asked to guess whether the a letter or a digit was presented. Consistent result regarding the guesses proved that stimuli was well received despite the observers awareness, this was based by the number of correct guesses an individual gave at the end of each question. Contrary to the observer’s initial answers of inability to see images or hear sounds, their correct guesses indicated that subliminal perceptions were actually achieved. Over the years similar studies have been done all giving good accurate results.
These results have brought about outstanding facts about subliminal perception, this facts rise to the use of subliminal symbols in most of the products offered to the public. Some studies done in 1970 by Bryan Key reports that effect of subliminal seduction in most of the products sold in markets to day, as most marketers always report sex sells, anything that connotes sex is bond to have a ready market. Based on this fact Key reports that some products have embedded sex subliminal which are only processed by the preconscious mind, an individual going through a market products will find unexplained fondness towards the product driving him or her to make purchases. The attraction to the product is due to sexual arousal or attraction which is attained subliminally to affect such an act. This fact has not been openly proved or downplayed but as history reports, this may be the main reason subliminal content were ban in advertising in early 1980’s.

All of us have wondered what our purpose is here on Earth. We intrinsically believe that we are part of a larger power that oversees all that we do and become. That entity is what we call “God” and is a mysterious and fearful force. Gregg Braden has authored a book called “Awakening the Power of a Modern God” to help answer these questions and many more.
In “Awakening the Power of a Modern God”, former aerospace engineer Gregg Braden illuminates the fact that our destiny as a race is deeply encoded in our DNA and is accessible by our physical self. The answers we seek are already answered if we only know where to look for them. Further, we are entangled in the spiritual forces that created this world and we are one with them.
During a far-reaching study lasting 12 years Braden explores the fact that science is beginning to uncover an intelligence that permeates all of creation, including us. He ties science to spirituality in his book “Awakening the Power of a Modern God” for all to see and discover for themselves.

I have been an active photographer since high school when I earned a few bucks (or Kroners in Norway) taking pictures for the local newspaper. It paid for my camera equipment – which made my parents happy. Well, that little side line never really ended. I never made a living with photography, but I am to this day earning enough money to more than paying for my equipment. I am now semi-retired and this is part of my retirement income. And fun too!
To make a long story short, using high end cameras since the beginning (1968) I manage to earn enough to support my habit. There are several ways to do that, personally I do some Realtor work – taking pictures of listings, I have done some team sports and nature/wildlife images I have printed out and sold.
A few years ago I got hired three years in a row (then I moved) to be the official photographer for the NW Washington State Fair. I got that by offering to take pictures one year in return for access to “back stage” at the fair. I got that, and they loved my images. So I had a couple of years of great fun while earning money doing what I really loved to do. With that credibility (I earned several prizes for my work from the WA State Fair Association) – I could have done some marketing and made more out of it. Life happened, so it got dropped.

“Locus of Control” is a psychology term that identifies our beliefs about the amount of control we have over our life. Having an” internal locus of control” indicates that an individual believes that events are largely controlled by one’s own actions. But if we feel that what happens to us or how well we succeed depends mostly on external factors such as the economy or the actions of our families, friends, co-workers, etc. we have an “external locus of control”. Having an “external locus of control” is like having a victim mentality. The victim and the person with an external locus of control both tend to be passive and wait for things to happen to them. They allow outside influences to make their decisions for them and wait for others to come up with solutions for any problems they make be having. They tend to blame something outside themselves for their actions, their feelings and their emotions, as well as for what actually happens in their lives. These people say things like “he made me so mad” or “because of what he did I am so depressed and sad”. Kind of like the husband who states “It’s my wife’s fault that I hit her”.
You don’t have to have a life makeover to be confident and powerful, it is just a mindset. You don’t have to change anything at all except for your thinking. Most of us recognize the error in thinking when the husband states ‘it’s my wife’s fault I got angry and hit her.” But we may not recognize the error in saying “He made me sad” or “She made me mad”. The truth is that we are allowing ourselves to feel sad or mad. We are giving up our power to another person when we allow ourselves to be angry or sad because of something someone else did. If something does not go as we would like or as we planned, instead of giving away our power and blaming someone or something outside ourselves we need to TAKE BACK OUR POWER. We need to ask ourselves what we could have done differently to get a different outcome, that way we can make better choices next time a similar situation comes up and those different choices will produce different results. Then we need to forgive ourselves for any mistakes we have made, forgive and forget the mistakes of others, and then move on. One important point I must make, forgiving and forgetting when others make mistakes and/or do us some kind of wrong, is emotionally freeing to us. But that doesn’t mean that we have to put ourselves in a position that leaves us vulnerable for them to repeat whatever they did to us. Being confident and powerful means that we forgive and forget, we don’t spend our time dwelling on and agonizing over the behavior of ourselves and others. But we also maintain healthy boundaries so that we are not a subject to that behavior again. For instance, if your nightly phone call from your sister or your mother ends up as an hour of complaints and negativity that leaves you drained and unhappy, you need to limit the phone call to five minutes when you are planning to leave for some activity. You state up front that you just wanted to say hello and make sure they were alright but you can’t stay on the line to talk because you have to be somewhere in ten minutes. Or you may choose to limit the phone calls to just once weekly. Whatever you need to do to protect yourself from being and feeling abused.
Sometimes we give away our power by making excuses or setting up false prerequisites in front of the things we say we want. We say we want to go to college but we have to save up a large sum of money first. We have to work to support ourselves and there is just no way we could find enough time to study because of the hours we have to work. Or we say we will sign up for college as soon as we pay off our car or move closer to the college of our choice. Then we trade in our car for a newer model that tacks on two more years of payments. What would happen if we traded in our car for an older car that cost the same as what our current car was worth? And we signed up for an online class that we could work on from home during whatever hours we were not required to be at our job? Yes, if we just took one class at a time, it would take us longer to complete our degree. But each time we completed a class, we would be one class closer to completing that degree.

As you finish your work at the end of the week, you long for a comforting and relaxing massage. You can almost feel the tension on your shoulders and back from the consistent flow of incoming work to be done. Amidst your efforts of trying to finish them and find time for yourself, you can’t seem to find it. Somehow, something more important than relaxing and unwinding comes up, thereby forgetting that one time of self-indulgence.
“When can I go to my favorite spa?” This question runs over and over your head that it makes you irritable at times. This is true for most career-oriented men and women who, at the same time raise a family of growing kids. It is quite normal for you to feel like you cannot find time for yourself anymore. Weekdays, you work until the clock says time to go home. At home, the kids needs help with their homework, teenager-talk, family-bonding time, dinner preparation, laundry and much more – these things blocked your chance for any plans of leisure and comfort at that health club. The weekend always seem filled with activities that will not go well without your presence – like family day event of your grade school kids, house-cleaning, tending the lawn and so on and so forth. All you can do is sigh.
But hey, you manage to take a bath right before you sleep, as well as before you go to work, right? Even during the weekends, when you know you have to accomplish many things, you wake up earlier to have your bath. Did you know that this simple, everyday activity is an opportunity for you to enjoy some amount of pampering? And mind you, this comes without the feeling of guilt unlike going to your health club for some aromatherapy massage despite your kids’ request for your presence at his baseball game. How?

You are in the park with your child. You play ball and run around the park. You are enjoying yourselves. The suddenly, one child catches your eye. This child keeps on tripping on his own feet and is having a problem catching the ball. The kid is playing catch with his family but the ball keeps falling and he cannot seem to catch it. However, no matter how many times the kid fails to catch the ball, the mother does not seem to be annoyed. This is an example of a child having developmental coordination disorder.
What is developmental coordination disorder? It is a disorder in childhood that is marked by poor coordination and clumsiness. This is diagnosed on children whose motor coordination does not develop normally. When you say motor coordination, these are the coordination of movements that involve voluntary muscles. Therefore, any movement that can be controlled such as holding, walking, running and the like.
There are many other names that are linked to developmental coordination disorder. Some of the names are clumsy child syndrome, clumsiness, developmental disorder of motor function and congenital maladroitness. This is usually first recognized when the child fails to reach a normal milestone in development such as walking or beginning to dress himself or herself.

Mac Anderson has created another masterpiece designed to help you improve your life. In The Power of Attitude he explains how the power to achieve whatever you want is really locked in with the power of your thoughts… your attitude towards life and those around you. In essence he drives home the point that it is how you think that will make or break you.
This isn’t the first time that this theory has been talked about. There are a great many self help books on the market completely devoted to that helping you change your mindset, the way you think and react to things that happen to you so that you are able to live a fulfilled life. You can’t control most of the things that happen in this life, but what you can control is the way you handle it and the way you think about it. In the Power of Attitude Mac Anderson uses an insightful and often moving combination of inspirational quotes and real life stories to illustrate and reinforce each point that he is making. You will see how when people have employed the principles he discusses in this book to their life, how it has changed their lives.
We are all human, and therefore, by design we are not perfect. There are perfect aspects about anyone though. The goal is to focus on the strengths, the positives that you have and work to overcome the issues that are holding you back. You aren’t getting passed over for a promotion because another person is better then you are, you are getting passed over because of your attitude and your fears. It is important to establish what your fears are and then work through them.
